The Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar on Wednesday approved a one-day extension in the parole of PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shahbaz.
According to the details, on November 27, Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz were released on five-day parole by the Punjab government following the death of Begum Shamim Akhtar, the mother of Nawaz and Shehbaz Sharif.
Special Assistant to CM Punjab on information Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan, meanwhile, commented on the extension, saying the PML-N leaders were released on parole on humanitarian grounds.
She said the parole cannot be extended and a request should never have been submitted.
The opposition, she continued, must realize that the public has rejected their stance. Those who looted public money for 40 years are now grieving for the common man just to save their looted wealth.
The alliance of opposition is only to protect their personal interests and has nothing to do with people’s problems, she added.
The PDM violated the court order and the coronavirus Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
The PDM may continue its political rhetoric but refrain from playing with the lives of the people. She also claimed that the PDM rallies are resulting in increasing corona cases.
Let it be known that Shahbaz and Hamza were being held at Kot Lakhpat jail in Lahore in different NAB cases.
Hamza, the leader of the opposition in the Punjab Assembly, is being investigated by NAB in the Ramzan Sugar Mills, Saaf Pani, and assets beyond known means of income cases. He was arrested by NAB on June 11, 2019. Whereas Shahbaz was arrested by a NAB team from outside the Lahore High Court on September 28.
