Islamabad Accountability Court on Thursday heard the Toshakhana reference against ex-president Asif Ali Zardari and former premier Yousaf Raza Gillani.

According to the details, the accountability court’s judge Azam Khan heard the reference. Prosecutor Irfan Bhola and lawyer Rafay appeared in the hearing. The prosecutor pleaded to the court that two witnesses including Zulfiqar Ali Gopang and Saib Akhtar are present in the courtroom to record their testimonies in the case.

During the hearing, the lawyer Jamshed Malik requested the court to decide about the holiday today. He argued that the court should pass an order as only important cases could be heard today.

The judge remarked that the court will give an order after confirming the attendance. After hearing the arguments, the accountability court adjourned the hearing till January 6.

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor said that Asif Ali Zardari and Nawaz Sharif got cars from Yousaf Raza Gillani through illegal ways.

Zardari had only paid 15 percent cost of the cars by using his fake accounts, however, Libya and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) also gifted him cars when serving as president, he told.

NAB officials alleged that Asif Ali Zardari used these cars for his personal work instead of submitting them to Toshakhana.

Nawaz Sharif got a car without any application in 2008 when he was not holding any public office, the anti-corruption watchdog’s representative stated.
