COVID Vaccination Campaign In Sindh To Kick-Start From February 3

Sindh Information Minister Nasir Hussain Shah announced the launch of a COVID-19 vaccination campaign in Sindh from Wednesday, February 3.

Addressing a press conference in the Assembly Hall along with Parliamentary Secretary for Health Qasim Siraj Soomro, Nasir Hussain Shah said that the vaccine campaign would be launched from Wednesday.

He said the federal government had received about 500,000 doses of the vaccine from China. The federation has given 82,359 doses to Sindh after which initially the vaccine will be given in 10 districts including all districts of Karachi, Jamshoro, Hyderabad and Shaheed Benazirabad among others.

He said that in the first phase, the front line workers will be vaccinated. The health department has allocated Rs 1.5 billion for the purchase of vaccines by the province. The Sindh Chief Minister has also allocated budget. The federation has not yet allowed us to buy vaccine.

Vaccination Process

Once informed about the vaccination, the masses as well as the frontline healthcare workers will have to send an SMS to 1166 or visit the NIMS website for registration.

Afterwards, a PIN code will be sent to the applicant while an AVC will be designated to them based on their present address. Once the vaccine is made available, the applicants will receive further details.

Prior to the vaccination, the system will authenticate the Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) number of the applicant.

Once confirmed by the NIMS, the vaccine will be administered to the masses. The details will be viewable through a real-time dashboard of the system.
