A magnitude 3.9 earthquake shook Swat and its adjoining areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) here on Monday (today).
According to Seismological Centre, the Hindu Kush mountain range was the epicentre of the quake. The tremors were felt in Mingora city and nearby areas.
On Friday night, earthquake tremors were felt in different cities of the country including Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.
Tremors were felt in different areas including Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, Rawalpindi and Mardan around 10 pm.
According to the Meteorological Department, the epicenter was reported at 6.4 on the Richter scale.
According to the seismological center, the quake struck at a depth of 80 km.
A woman died in Haripur’s Khanpur village, reports added.
According to the Seismological Centre, the depth of the earthquake was measured at 80km. Citizens have been advised to be careful as aftershocks of the earthquake are expected.
Such a high-intensity earthquake jolted Pakistan after 1.5 years, and during the previous incident, Azad Jammu and Kashmir suffered significant damages.
