Pakistan Democratic Chief (PDM) Maulana Fazlur Rahman on Monday contacted Asif Zardari and Nawaz Sharif to devise new strategy against the PTI government.
According to the sources, JUI-F chief and PDM head Fazlur Rehman Tuesday called up ex-PM Nawaz Sharif and former president Asif Ali Zardari and discussed the future strategy against the government.
It was agreed that the PDM meeting slated for February 4 will discuss different options to oust the government.
Sources said that former president has suggested to opt no confidence motion against PTI government before organizing long march. Whereas, Nawaz Sharif is in favor of long march after Senate elections.
PPP chairperson Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari in his recent statement said that PM has failed to resign by the deadline set by PDM, adding that the opposition alliance had given “this illegitimate regime the opportunity to step aside respectfully and allow for a transition to democracy with free, fair and transparent elections.
He said the Pakistani people faced historic poverty, unemployment and inflation because the incumbent government had been “forced on them”.
The PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto said that the plan of staging a long march against the government and moving a no-trust motion against Prime Minister Imran will “hopefully be discussed” in the next PDM meeting.
