President of Pakistan and First Lady Samina Alvi on Monday took shots of shots of COVID-19 vaccine doses in Islamabad.

According to the details, President Dr. Arif Alvi along with his wife Samina Arif Alvi reached Tarlai Vaccination Center for COVID-19 vaccine doses.

Dr. Arif Alvi, while speaking on the occasion, said that the vaccine is being administered to senior citizens in Pakistan as per age categories.

The President said that he got himself registered on the Helpline 1166 and received the shots as per turn.

Dr Arif Alvi said that the government has introduced an easy and the best mechanism to avoid long queues. Moreover, he advised to continue precautionary measures even after the vaccination amid the third wave of the killer virus in Pakistan.

The President also advised the people that they should continue wearing face masks, frequent hand washing, and maintaining social distancing to curb the virus spread.

Earlier today the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) advised the provincial governments to take strict actions on violations of COVID-19 related health protocols.

A meeting was held in Islamabad today with Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar in the chair.

The meeting asked the provinces to ensure that SOPs in transport, hotels and other places are strictly followed, otherwise, strict actions resulting in the closure of the tourism sector may also be considered.
