The Top politicians of the ruling party Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) has termed the judgment of Supreme Court in presidential reference seeking open ballot voting in the upcoming Senate Elections, ‘historic.’

Information Minister Senator Shibli Faraz has said the Supreme Court’s judgment in Presidential reference is historic under which the Senate elections will be held as per Article 226 of the constitution.

Talking to the media persons in Peshawar on Monday, he said the apex court has directed the Election Commission of Pakistan to use the latest technology and take the necessary steps to ensure transparency in the polls. He said the court has also ruled that secrecy of ballot is not permanent.

The Information Minister asked the Election Commission of Pakistan to take requisite steps for ensuring transparency in the Senate elections in the light of the Supreme Court’s decision.

Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Senator Faisal Javed said that today’s decision is a victory for Pakistan, it is a strong decision for transparency, and the decision of the court is strong.

The PTI leader said that the esteemed court has given a brief opinion, a detailed decision will also come soon. Senator Faisal Javed has said that before today there was not such a detailed discussion on the Senate election. In the past, money was flowing in the Senate election.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister of Pakistan on Political Communication Dr. Shahbaz Gill in his statement said that it is for the time in history a war has been fought against the horse trading in Senate Elections and the Almighty Allah has made Imran Khan successful in his journey.
