One woman passenger died and 40 others injured as nine bogies of the Karachi express train derailed near Sangi railway on Sunday.

As per the details, nine bogies of Lahore-bound Karachi derailed as they faced an accident between Rohri and Panu Aqil.

The rescue team and Pakistan army soldiers have reached the scene. IG railways said the accident will be investigated to find out the cause.

Officials reported that the incident happened due to coupler failure.

Federal Minister for Railways Azam Swati said that a report of the incident will be ready in 4 to 5 days and he promised that strict action will be taken against those found guilty of negligence.

Earlier in 2019, Tezgam train, which was on its way from Karachi to Rawalpindi, caught fire near Tanori Station Chak no. 6 Chani Goth, today.

According to details, dozens have reportedly been wounded, whereas, 71 have been confirmed dead after 3 bogies of Tezgam train caught fire near Liaquatpur.

Rescue teams arrived at timely basis and moved the injured to Liaquatpur hospital.
