Punjab Police chief reviews security measures for Daska, Khushab by-elections

Inspector General (IG) Punjab Inam Ghani on Thursday assured that foolproof security will be provided to the polling staff for NA-75 Daska and PP-84 Khushab by-elections.

According to the details, IG Punjab Inam Ghani presided over a video link meeting to review the security arrangements for the by-elections in both constituencies.

The IG Punjab directed that security arrangements should be made in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) issued by the Election Commission.

He also advised the Station house officers to deploy lady personnel at women polling stations and polling booths.

He said that after the end of polling, additional personnel should be deployed for the delivery of ballot boxes and other election materials while other items including additional wireless sets should be provided to the concerned officers without any delay.

IG Punjab Inam Ghani also ordered the officers on election duty to ensure the implementation of Corona SOPs and all officers and personnel should take precautionary measures including the use of face masks and hand sanitizers.
