He said, “We also reaffirm our commitment to continue our moral, political & diplomatic support to the cause of the Jammu & Kashmir dispute. I also urge the international community to play its role to compel India to stop committing human rights abuses against the innocent Muslims of IIOJK.”
Dr Arif Alvi said, “This day reminds us to pay rich tribute to the Father of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and leaders and workers of the Pakistan Movement Let’s pledge to follow the ideals of the Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and work for the unity and prosperity of Pakistan.”
In his message to the nation, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that while waving the national flag on the occasion of Independence Day today, we should reaffirm our firm commitment to uphold the national values of faith, unity and organization which was envisioned by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
He said that we have overcome difficult challenges in our historical journey to emerge as a united, peaceful and determined nation. Yes, but as always, thanks to our determination, we will overcome these obstacles and emerge as a stronger nation.
“Today, Pakistan can stand tall among the nations of the world. Our policies on economic recovery, tackling the Corona epidemic and environmental protection have been welcomed around the world,” he said.
The Prime Minister said that on this occasion we should not forget our Kashmiri brothers and sisters who are struggling for their right to self-determination in the most unfavourable conditions and in indescribable oppression under Indian illegal occupation, fulfilling the promises made to them by the people of Kashmir. Looking to the international community, Pakistan will continue to support Kashmiris in their struggle for self-determination.
“Pakistan has made great sacrifices and paid a heavy price for the volatile situation on its western borders. We have always insisted that there is no military solution to the Afghan conflict while in Afghanistan,” he said. For lasting peace and stability, Pakistan will continue to support a political solution to the Afghan conflict through dialogue. We want peace at home and abroad to pursue our economic and social agenda.
He said that in the new Pakistan, our entire focus has shifted from geopolitics to geoeconomics in which we are focusing on the welfare and prosperity of the people of Pakistan as a top priority.
