KARACHI: Soaring power cuts for nearly 6 hours in exempted areas of Karachi have deepened the miseries of the people. As per details, different areas of the city were plunged into darkness for around 18 hours.

However, areas like PIB Colony, Jamshed Road, Ibn-e-Sina, Gulshan-e-Zahoor, Baldia Ittehad Town, Qaim Khani Colony, and Gulshan-e-Ghazi faced overnight load shedding.

While, Azizabad, Hussainabad, few blocks of Liaquatabad, Lyari Chakiwara, Kumhar Wara, Singolin, Jhatpat Market and Arafat were also plunged into darkness last night.

Previously, after the announcement of market closure by 8:30 pm, K-Electric has also revealed its schedule for load shedding in the city.

Amid the load shedding issue in the metropolitan city, the government has announced a few steps to lessen the miseries of the people including the closure of markets by8:30 pm.

K-Electric has announced the schedule for residential areas along with commercial markets.

As per details, the demand for electricity in Karachi has reached 3,100 MW while K-Electric has been supplying 2,750 MW of power.

The K-Electric spokesperson said that the supply of 2,750 MW also includes 1000MW produced by National Grid station.
K-Electric ruined the peace of citizens with the worst power cut in the city.
