Azam Swati’s son challenges cases against his father in SHC 

• The Son of Senator Azam Swati, Usman Swati has filed a petition in the Sindh High Court (SHC).
• In the petition filed, Usman Swati requested to the court that the police should be stopped from registering more cases against Azam Swati in Sindh.
• The hearing of the plea in the cases filed against Azam Swati is likely to take place tomorrow.

KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Senator Azam Swati’s son Usman Swati has challenged the cases registered against his father in the Sindh High Court (SHC).

The Son of Senator Azam Swati, Usman Swati has filed a petition  in the Sindh High Court (SHC).

In the petition filed, Usman Swati requested to the court that the police should be stopped from registering more cases against Azam Swati in Sindh and the details of the cases filed against Azam Swati across Sindh should be sought.

He submitted that allegation was leveled against Azam Swati based on an incident that happened in Punjab. He further submitted the case of the incident in Punjab cannot be registered in Sindh.

In the petition filed, it was argued that as per the decisions of the Supreme Court, no multiple cases can be registered against accused in one incident.

The petitioner pleaded that the harassment of Azam Swati and his family should be stopped.

The hearing of the plea in the cases filed against Azam Swati is likely to take place tomorrow.

On this occasion, along with Barrister Usman Swati, Opposition Leader Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Shaikh, Firdous Shamim Naqvi and others were also present in the court.

Earlier, the Balochistan High Court had ordered not to register more cases against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Azam Swati in the province.

It should be remembered that today is the fourth day of the remand of Senator Azam Khan Swati in the custody of Balochistan Police.
