RAWALPINDI: During his visit, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza on Monday laid wreath at Mazar-e-Quaid (Quaid’s Mausoleum) to pay homage to the Father of the Nation and offered Fateha.

The media wing of armed forces, Inter services Public Relations (ISPR) reported this.

On November 27, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza had assumed charge as Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) at the General Headquarters.

In this regard, an impressive ceremony was held at Joint Staff Headquarters. According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the ceremony was also attended by former chairmen Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee besides a large number of serving and retired officers from tri-services,

A smartly turned-out Joint Services guard contingent had presented salute as the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee arrived at the venue. General Mirza had reviewed the guard of honour and the march past.

General Mirza had taken charge after the General Nadeem Raza hung up his boots. Gen Nadeem Raza had retired on November 26 after 41 years of illustrious military service.
