Karachi to get new Administrator today?

• A meeting is going to take place today to decide on the Administrator of Karachi

KARACHI: A meeting is going to take place today to decide on the Administrator of Karachi under the chairmanship of Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.

As per the details, the final decision in regard to the Administrator will be announced after the session today.

Pertinently, the slot fell vacant when Administrator Murtaza Wahab tendered his resignation nearly two months ago being dissatisfied with the Sindh High Court (SHC) verdict barring the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) from collecting the taxes through K-Electric bills.

His resignation has been pending the approval of the government and the meeting being held today will finalize the matter.

Notably, a series of meetings between the People’s Party and MQM in this regard has been going on for several days. MQM nominated Abdul Waseem, Saif ur Rehman and Iftikhar for the administrator Karachi, while the names of District Central Furqan Atib, District East Shakeel Ahmed and Korangi Irshad Zafir and Sharif Khan were nominated in the districts.
