ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi rebuffed the statement attributed to him regarding former chief of army staff Qamar Javed Bajwa and said that his statement was quoted wrongly.
While taking notice of the wrong attribution, he said that the statement was fabricated regarding the former COAS that he helped Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Senate and elections.
“The statement has been quoted out of reference to the context and is twisted and self-concocted,” he said.
He was addressing a wide-ranging conversation with journalists, leaders of the business community and foreign diplomats at a dinner when his statement was wrongly attributed by the media.
Earlier, the president visited the mausoleum of the Father of the Nation Quaid-e-Azam Mohammed Ali Jinnah and paid rich tributes to him on his 146th birthday anniversary on Sunday.
President Arif Alvi also laid a wreath and offered Fateha at the Mazar-e-Quaid. He also prayed for the development and prosperity of the country. He, later, inked his impressions in the book of visitors.
