The Punjab government plans interest-free motorbikes for students to reduce transportation costs....
The Punjab government has introduced the Punjab Motorcycle Scheme, an innovative program aimed at giving students access to mobility. This initiative is part of the Chief Minister’s Maryam Nawaz Sharif Youth Initiative and plans to distribute 20,000 bikes to students in Punjab.
Under the scheme, students can choose from 19,000 petrol bikes and 1,000 e-bikes. They need to make a down payment of Rs20,000 and pay monthly installments over two years. Male students will pay Rs 11,676 monthly, while female students will pay Rs 7,325.
To be eligible, students in Punjab with a learner’s permit or a driving license can apply. The initial batch of bikes will go to students in Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Rawalpindi, and Lahore. Applicants must be over 18 years old, enrolled in public or private universities, and have a driving license or learner’s permit. The deadline for online applications is April 29th.
This scheme is a positive step towards student empowerment, offering affordable transportation and easing financial burdens. Eligible students are encouraged to apply before the deadline to benefit from this opportunity.
