LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shahbaz Gill has reportedly gone missing from the Services Hospital in Lahore where he was under treatment for respiratory issues.
Registrar Medical Unit-2 Dr Nauman has sent a report to Medical Superintendent (MS) stating that PTI Shahbaz Gill ‘disappeared’ from a VVIP room of the hospital without informing the staff.
He said Shahbaz Gill reportedly disappeared from the facility without informing the management. He said the doctors went to Gill’s room for a routine medical checkup and found him missing. He added that the medical file and necessary records were also missing from the room.
According to hospital sources, Shahbaz Gill went missing from the facility last night. Gill was not present in the ward when doctors went to check on him in the morning. The hospital guards revealed that someone came to pick up Shahbaz Gill from the hospital late at night
MS Services Hospital has expressed ignorance over the matter and said Shahbaz Gill went out on his own accord. Gill was admitted to the hospital on December 7 due to cough and respiratory problems.
PTI MPA Musarrat Jamshed Cheema rejected reports of Gill’s disappearance and claimed he was still under treatment at the Services Hospital. She said Gill went to a private orthopedic doctor for a check-up. She urged media to refrain from baseless reports.
Shahbaz Gill was admitted to the Services Hospital over experiencing shortness of breath and facing difficulty in breathing and coughing.
Earlier in September, he was shifted to the PIMS Hospital in Islamabad after his health condition deteriorated in the Adiala Jail where he was kept after a sedition case was lodged against him.
