KARACHI: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted cold and dry weather in most parts of the country, while very cold in upper parts and north Balochistan during the next twelve hours.
Dense fog is likely to continue over plain areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh.
Frost is expected in the Pothohar region during morning hours.
However, partly cloudy weather with light rain and snowfall is likely in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, and Kashmir.
Temperatures of some major cities recorded in Islamabad and Muzaffarabad were two-degree centigrade, Lahore six, Karachi 15, Peshawar four, Quetta minus two, Gilgit minus six, and Murree zero degree centigrade.
On the other hand, rain and snowfall over the hills are forecast in the western and upper parts of the country from January 06 to 09.
According to a weather advisory issued by National Disaster Management Authority, light to moderate rain with snowfall over the hills is expected in Quetta, Zhob, Barkhan, Ziarat, Nokkundi, Dalbandin, Harnai, Qilla Saifullah, Qilla Abdullah, Chaman, and Pishin.
Moderate rain with snowfall over the hills is also expected in Murree, Galliyat, Neelum valley, Muzaffarabad, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber, Mir pur), Diamir, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche, Shigar), Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Kohistan, Mansehra, and Abbottabad.
Light rain is also expected in Islamabad, Pothohar region, Charsada, Bajaur, Kurram, Waziristan, and Kohat.
