Noor Alam says people in KP being killed due to govt’s wrong policy

Chairman of Public Accounts Committee and PTI disgruntled MNA Noor Alam Khan has said the government will not be serious until people in Lahore and Punjab are killed in terror incidents, adding that whereas people are being killed in Peshawar and KP.

He expressed these anguished remarks while addressing the National Assembly session in Islamabad on Tuesday.

He raised the question who had been carrying out terrorism in the country for the last 30 years.

He said, “I am intercepted even if I am in official vehicle, I feel humiliated and consider myself second-class citizen of Pakistan.”

He angrily said, “We (Pathans) are dying because of your policies and you should have called the Chief of Army Staff to brief the house who are carrying out terror activities in the country.”

He remarked, “We are being bodily searched, why the rest are not searched in the same way.”

He added, “Afghanis are freely wondering in the country but Pakistanis are being humiliated. We are being asked for showing our identity cards to proof our identity but on the other hand, Afghanis’ ID cards are being made.”

He said, “I want to ask the question to this house and owners of the country, what is being done with us, what our sin is.”

He demanded that a meeting of National Security Council be immediately called to discuss the issue and mull what should be done with Afghanis.

Noor maintained that Afghanis are also living in Iran but they are living in camps there.

He said that US dollar had reached Rs275, adding they should not be punished for being Pakistanis and they had sacrificed more than anyone in the country.

He demanded that the prime minister come to the house and give policy statement.

Later, taking the floor of the house and reacting to the statement of Noor Alam Khan, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said that the government had full realisation of pains and sufferings, the KP and its people are undergoing, adding the Punjab had also suffered due to terrorism and more than 100 people were also killed from 2005 to 2010 in the province.

He remarked that they had to unitedly fight against the menace and defeat it.
