Security high alert as Imran Khan likely to appear before LHC today

LAHORE: Security has been put on high alert as Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan is expected to appear before the Lahore High Court (LHC), Bol News reported.

Heavy contingent of police has been posted inside and outside of the LHC. Nobody else except the court staff, petitioners and lawyers are allowed inside the court premises.

The people coming into the high court are being allowed after intense checking.

Meanwhile, the LHC dismissed Imran Khan’s request to allow his vehicle inside the court premises. So, the PTI chief’s legal team would again consult with Imran Khan on the matter of appearance before the court.

A contempt of court plea was filed against the Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah for scandalizing the judiciary. The petition had been filed by Shahid Rana Advocate.

In the petition, Shahid Rana Advocate had made Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah a party and submitted that Rana Sanaullah had leaked the audio of former chief minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and President Supreme Court Bar by conducting a direct press conference.
