PM expresses grief over fire incident in Lower Kohistan

• At least 10 persons of the same family died in fire incident in KP.
• PM directed to provide all possible medical assistance to the injured.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday expressed grief and sorrow over the fire incident in Lower Kohistan District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

At least 10 persons of the same family, including women, children and men died and 13 others were injured when fire broke out in a house in Siri Paye area of Lower Kohistan.

The prime minister prayed to Allah Almighty for grant of eternal peace and elevation of ranks in paradise to those killed in the incident.

He also directed to provide all possible medical assistance to the injured.

Earlier, As many as 10 people, including children and women, were killed and several others injured in a fire incident in the Seri area of Pattan, the district headquarters of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Lower Kohistan.

Lower Kohistan Rescue 1122 spokesperson, said fire erupted in a wooden house due to an electric short circuit in the early hours of Friday when the residents were asleep.

She said state does not want any bloodshed or loss of life....

As a result, the house’s roof collapsed, leading to the deaths of 10 family members and leaving several others injured.
