ISLAMABAD: The District and Sessions Court Islamabad on Thursday turned down the PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s petition and upheld his non-bailable arrest warrants in Toshakhana case.
Earlier, Additional Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal heard arguments and reserved verdict on the plea and reserved the verdict on the plea.
Later, the Additional Sessions judge announced the verdict on the plea of the PTI chairman seeking suspension of his arrest warrants.
The election commission’s counsel opposed the plea seeking suspension of the arrest warrants. “The court has rejected scores of pleas for exemption from attending the hearing earlier,” ECP counsel said.
PTI moved IHC requesting the suspension of non-bailable arrest warrant issued against Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case. The high court directed the party to move the case to the trial court.
Today’s hearing was conducted by Additional District and Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal. PTI counsel requested the court either to suspend the arrest warrant or to issue a bailable warrant in the case.
