PMLN supremo Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday surrendered before the Accountability Court in the Toshakhana reference and secured bail.
Accountablity Court judge Muhammad Bashir conducted the hearing of case.
NAB prosecutor urged the court to suspend Nawaz Sharif’s warrants, so that the trial is proceeded.
PLMN’s legal also requested the court to exempt Nawaz Sharif from court appearances in future.
The court issued a notice to NAB on Nawaz Sharif’s request to unfreeze the seized property.
The court directed Nawaz to submit surety bond worth Rupees 0.1 mllion, which was immediately submitted by the legal team.
Following this progress, the court adjourned the hearing till November 20.
The Islamabad High Court had granted protective bail to Nawaz Sharif until October 24, and also restrained the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) from arresting him in the Avenfield and Al-Azizia references.
The court directed Nawaz Sharif to reinitiate the appeal on surrender, as highlighted by the NAB prosecutor.
The NAB prosecutor, Naeem Sangeeda, clarified that NAB had no objection to Nawaz Sharif’s bail and mentioned that the instructions had come from the Prosecutor General of NAB.
Additionally, the Accountability Court had also suspended the permanent warrant of Nawaz Sharif.
