World Mountain Day is being celebrated today to highlight the importance of mountains around the world.

Everyone is aware of mountains in our life, 8 out of 24 major peaks in the world belong to Gilgit-Baltistan while two of the second highest peaks in the world, K2 has the honor of being the first highest peak in Pakistan.

The world’s Second highest peak at an altitude of 8611 meters in the land of mountains, Gilgit-Baltistan, awakens the magic of its existence and invites climbers all over the world.

Reflecting to the context, 91 climbers died while climbing the K2 while 377 succeeded.

There are at least 108 peaks in Pakistan that are above 7,000 meters, the number of peaks below is 6,000 is unlimited.

2 summit expeditions are organized every year for the adventurer of K2 in Pakistan for which climbers from all over the com to Gilgit-Baltistan to summit it.

No one is unaware of how important role mountains play in our life, everyone is aware of the importance of mountains in our life, whether it is nurturing of forest or snowfall both are for our benefit.
