Lahore High Court (LHC) Justice Shahid Jameel Khan has resigned from his post, Bol News reported on Friday.

The sources revealed that LHC Justice has sent his resignation to President Arif Alvi.

Justice Shahid Jameel was appointed as a judge in the LHC in 2014 and was supposed to retire in 2029. Moreover, he was 11th in the seniority list, however the reasons for his resignation have not been revealed.

Justice Shahid Jameel wrote in his resignation that it was an honor for me to be a judge of LHC. I am resigning from my post due to personal reasons. He further added that I have decided to start a new chapter in my life, due to which I am resigning from my position.

Furthermore, it should be noted that Justice Shahid Jameel Khan has resigned under Article 206 A of the Constitution.

Second senior most judge of Supreme Court Justice Ijazul Ahsan has resigned from his post and sent his resignation to the President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi.

Earlier, Justice Ejaz ul Ahsan was to become the Chief Justice of Pakistan after Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa. Justice Ejaz ul Ahsan was the most senior judge after Justice Sardar Tariq Masood, who would retire on March 10, 2024.

After Qazi Faiz Isa, Justice Ejazul Hasan was to become the Chief Justice. After the resignation of Justice Ejazul Hasan, now Justice Mansoor Ali Shah will become the Chief Justice of Pakistan. Justice Ejaz Ul Ahsan did not attend the meeting of the Supreme Judicial Council today.
