Four special trains on Eid
LAHORE: The Pakistan Railways will run four special trains to facilitate passengers...
As per a private news channel, which quotes sources from the Meteorological Department, it is anticipated that Pakistanis will have six holidays to celebrate Eidul Fitr.
The channel further stated that Eidul Fitr is expected to be observed around April 10. It’s worth noting that in 2019, Fawad Chaudhary, the former federal minister of Science and Technology, introduced the Lunar calendar to resolve issues related to moon sightings.
As per the calendar introduced by Chaudhary, Muslims all over the country will fast 29 times this year. This implies that Eidul Fitr will be celebrated across Pakistan on April 10.
Usually, Eid holidays start a day before the anticipated date to allow for preparations and celebrations. If the government declares a four-day holiday from April 9 (Tuesday) to April 12 (Friday), and considering the regular weekend holidays on Saturday and Sunday observed by both government and some private offices, it would result in a total of six holidays.
The final decision on the holiday schedule will be taken after consultations with the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) and other relevant departments.
On the other hand, according to the list of holidays issued by the Cabinet Division a few weeks ago, the Eidul Fitr holidays have been scheduled from April 10 until April 12. If this schedule remains unchanged, then Pakistanis will have five holidays.
