Emirates ID update: Hassle-free application process for Pakistanis in UAE

Pakistani nationals residing in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are required to obtain the Emirates ID card from the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICP).

This card holds significant importance as it grants access to various government services.

In a recent development, the UAE authorities have streamlined the process for obtaining the Emirates ID card, making it more convenient for applicants.

Previously, the process involved multiple steps and mandatory fields. However, now it has been simplified to just one step, with six mandatory fields removed.

With this updated system, the applicant’s data is automatically populated based on their last registered address.

Moreover, there is no longer a need for customers to provide a photo for passport services or when applying for an Emirates ID.

The system retrieves customer data and photos automatically, although there is an option to change the photo if needed.

Furthermore, the UAE authorities have introduced various online payment channels, including Apple Pay and Google Pay, to streamline the payment process.

This initiative aims to reduce the number of payment entry fields and enhance the overall user experience.

It’s important to note that these facilities are available not only to Pakistani nationals but to all residents in the UAE, further emphasizing the commitment to providing efficient and accessible services to the community.
