The Ministry of Religious Affairs announced on Tuesday that all 79,000 individuals who applied for the Hajj 2025 pilgrimage under the federal government scheme were declared "successful" as the submission deadline ended on December 10.
Saudi Arabia has allocated a total Hajj quota of 179,210 pilgrims to Pakistan, equally divided between the government and private schemes, with each receiving 89,605 slots.
Last week, the government extended the deadline for submitting applications under the government scheme from December 3 to December 10. Despite this, 10,605 slots remain unfilled. The ministry has decided to continue accepting applications on a first-come, first-served basis until the quota is exhausted.
According to ministry spokesperson Muhammad Umar Butt, over 10,000 additional applications were received during the extended week. He clarified that the allocation of seats would be based on the date and time on the computerized receipts issued by the banks. Once the government quota is filled, the ministry will announce the closure of applications.
The spokesperson also shared that after the quota is finalized, the schedule for the second installment of Hajj payments will be released. Pilgrims have been advised to utilize the Pak Hajj Mobile App for updates on payment schedules, training sessions, and flight details.
Umar added that the ministry's proactive approach aims to simplify the Hajj application process and ensure maximum convenience for all applicants.
