Recently, there has been a decline in cement dispatches, with total binder dispatches in January 2024 amounting to 3.414 million tons, compared to 4.006 million tons in the same month of the previous fiscal year.
Data from the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) revealed that local cement dispatches in January 2024 were 2.967 million tons, reflecting a 17.3% decrease from 3.588 million tons in January 2023.
In contrast, exports witnessed a surge of 6.82%, with volumes increasing from 418,067 tons in January 2023 to 446,595 tons in January 2024.
Specifically, north-based mills dispatched 2.434 million tons of cement in January 2024, marking a 15.83% decline from 2.892 million tons in January 2023. South-based mills dispatched 979,970 tons of cement in January 2024, indicating a 12.08% decrease compared to 1.115 million tons in January 2023.
