The federal government has announced revised prices of petroleum products, cutting the price of high-speed diesel while keeping petrol rates unchanged, according to a notification issued by the Ministry of Finance.
As per the notification, the price of high-speed diesel has been reduced by Rs14 per litre, bringing the new price to Rs265.65 per litre. Meanwhile, petrol will continue to be sold at Rs263.45 per litre for the next 15 days.
The new prices came into effect from 12:00 midnight.
Officials said the decision aims to provide relief to consumers while maintaining a balance with ongoing fiscal pressures.
Market analysts noted that the reduction in diesel prices is expected to ease transportation costs and lower the burden on goods movement, offering some relief to the general public.
