Eid-ul-Azha: Traffic plan announced for cattle markets in Islamabad

CTO advised citizens to use designated parking areas instead of parking on roadsides.

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Traffic Police has prepared a special traffic management plan for cattle markets across the federal capital ahead of Eid-ul-Azha to ensure smooth traffic flow and convenience for the public.

Chief Traffic Officer Muhammad Sarfraz Virk said that more than 350 officers and personnel will be deployed under the special Eid traffic arrangements.

He said additional traffic staff have been assigned around cattle markets to guide commuters and control traffic congestion during busy shopping hours.

The CTO advised citizens to use designated parking areas instead of parking on roadsides near cattle markets to prevent traffic jams and inconvenience for other drivers.

He further stated that traffic police officers will remain on duty 24 hours a day during the Eid holidays to maintain order and help citizens throughout the city.

Authorities have requested the public to cooperate with the traffic management plan and follow instructions to ensure uninterrupted traffic flow during the festive days.

Meanwhile, Pakistan is expected to celebrate Eid-ul-Azha on May 27 after the Zilhaj moon was sighted on May 17, as announced by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee following its meeting in Karachi.

The federal government has also announced three-day public holiday from 26th to 28th May for Eid celebrations.
