Islamabad: In a decisive diplomatic breakthrough, Iran has granted passage to an additional 20 Pakistani-flagged ships through the strategic Strait of Hormuz, bolstering regional trade and signaling a constructive shift in relations.

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, announced the development on social media platform X, stating that two Pakistani vessels will now traverse the Strait daily, underscoring the operational scale of the agreement.

Commenting on Iran’s positive gesture, Ishaq Dar described the move as a “significant step toward regional peace and stability”, emphasizing that dialogue, diplomacy, and trust-building are the only sustainable routes to resolving disputes.

In his post, Ishaq Dar tagged U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, U.S. Special Envoy Steve Vautkof, and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, highlighting the global relevance and diplomatic weight of the development.

“This milestone not only strengthens bilateral ties but also reinforces collective efforts for lasting peace,” Ishaq Dar said. “The path forward is clear negotiations, diplomacy, and mutual confidence remain the pillars of progress.”
