Pakistan shares a close bond with its neighbouring country, Iran, which attracts thousands of Muslim visitors annually to pay homage to its sacred shrines.
To enter Iran, Pakistanis must acquire a Ziarat visa from the Iranian embassy. Alternatively, they can also obtain a tourism visa from the embassy.
Iran operates consulates in Lahore, Peshawar, Islamabad, and Karachi, where Pakistani nationals can submit their visa applications.
Visa applicants have two options for applying for an Iranian visa:
- They can directly fill out the Visa Application Form on the Islamic Republic of Iran's website and then appear in person at the Visa Section of the Consulate.
- Alternatively, they can utilize approved Drop Boxes (Travel Agencies) or Ziarat Caravans for visa application submission.
- Original passport with a minimum validity of six months before the expiry date.
- Original Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) and a copy of it for applicants whose Residential Address differs from their Passport's issuance place.
- Printed Visa Application Form issued for the applicant after completing the electronic Application Form and the specified Barcode.
