RAWALPINDI: Lebanese Armed Forces Chief General Rodolphe Haykal visited the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi today, where he held a high-level meeting with Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Upon arrival at GHQ, the visiting military chief was presented with a guard of honour, marking the significance of the official defence engagement.
During the meeting, both military leaders held detailed discussions on matters of mutual interest, regional security developments, and various dimensions of bilateral defence cooperation, the ISPR said.
The two sides reviewed avenues to further expand military collaboration and agreed to strengthen institutional linkages and professional cooperation between the armed forces of Pakistan and Lebanon.
Field Marshal Asim Munir highlighted the importance of long-standing friendly relations between the two countries and reaffirmed Pakistan Army’s commitment to enhancing defence cooperation and strengthening military-to-military ties.
General Rodolphe Haykal appreciated the professionalism, capabilities, and contributions of the Pakistan Armed Forces, acknowledging their role in promoting regional peace and stability.
The discussions also covered training cooperation, exchange programmes, and broader military engagement, with both sides expressing a shared resolve to deepen defence relations further.
According to ISPR, the visit reflects a notable step forward in Pakistan–Lebanon defence relations and is expected to contribute to long-term strengthening of bilateral military partnership.
