One member of the royal family who is particularly down to earth is Princess Anne. For instance, she avoids using a stylist while on business travels and has always urged her kids to refrain from using the royal titles.

Therefore, it is not surprising that she occasionally breaks with tradition when announcing significant news!

She apparently had little interest in sharing the news with the public when she became a grandmother in 2010, following the birth of her son Peter Phillips’ first child with his then-wife Autumn. When the news was eventually made public, Anne reportedly originally withheld the baby’s sex from the media.

The public didn’t learn the Princess Royal’s answer to whether or not she had a grandchild or granddaughter until someone asked her outside Sandringham, as royal analyst Richard Palmer recently remembered to the Daily Express.

Naturally, we now know that Savannah Phillips, a small girl who is now 11 years old, had a proud grandma in the Queen’s daughter.

Isla, age ten, was also welcomed by Peter and Autumn, while Zara, Anne’s daughter, and her husband, Mike Tindall, are parents to three kids.

The couple are loving parents to baby Lucas, one, and daughters Mia, eight, and Lena, four.

The uncommon appearance of Princess Anne and her mother for a special joint visit last week thrilled royal admirers. On Friday, the pair travelled to Maidenhead to formally inaugurate the new Thames Hospice structure.

The 96-year-old monarch was upbeat as she faced the sun wearing a cream and blue floral dress. She had driven the short 15 minutes from her home at Windsor Castle.

In contrast, Anne was dressed elegantly in a striped yellow outfit. The hospice, which offers palliative and end-of-life care to adults 16 and older throughout East Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire, gave the royals a warm welcome.
