In the Netflix documentary, which has garnered media attention ever since its debut, Meghan Markle discussed the subject of her ethnicity and the struggles she has faced as a biracial person.

The wife of Prince Harry discussed her skin tone in the second documentary episode.

“I grew up in LA and I remember my mom telling stories about taking me to the grocery store and women going ‘Whose child is that’. She is like ‘It’s my child’. ‘No you must be the nanny where is her mom’.” stated Meghan Markle.

The former actress claimed that it took place because  “I was fair- skinned and mom darker.”

The Duchess of Sussex also discussed the unfavourable news coverage her time spent living in the US prior to her marriage to Prince Harry received in the UK.

The media coverage of the UK’s black community’s response to Meghan Markle’s joining the royal family is also included in the documentary.
