Meghan Markle silent since Alec Baldwin charged in ‘Rust’ shooting

In December, Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria attended the 2022 Robert F. Kennedy Ripple of Hope Award Gala.

Alec, 64, presided over the event, which honoured Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

In an Instagram post following the award event, Hilaria lavished admiration on Meghan Markle.

When she recently tweeted a post thanking people for their support following Alec Baldwin’s arrest in the Rust shooting case, royal admirers wondered if Meghan Markle was also among those who consoled her.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex did not publish a statement in response to the Alec Baldwin case, but it was unclear whether the couple delivered a private message of support.

According to court documents, actor Alec Baldwin was charged with involuntary manslaughter on Tuesday for exhibiting a “reckless” disregard for safety, which resulted in the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the Western film “Rust” in New Mexico in 2021.

District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies filed charges after months of conjecture about whether she had proof that Baldwin acted negligently when a pistol he was practising with released a live round that killed Hutchins.

Baldwin and set armourer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed were both charged with involuntary manslaughter on two counts. The most serious accusation, which carries a potential five-year prison sentence, would necessitate prosecutors persuading a jury. Baldwin’s use was not only irresponsible, but also reckless in his use of firearm.
