IPL 2022: Bhuvneshwar Kumar reaches a major IPL milestone

Bhuvneshwar Kumar became the first Indian pacer to record 150 wickets in this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL).

During the IPL 2022 match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings at Dr DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, veteran Indian quick Bhuvneshwar Kumar took his 150th wicket.

After West Indian all-rounder Dwayne Bravo (174) and legendary Sri Lankan Lasith Malinga (170), the SRH star is the only third pacer in IPL history to reach the 150-wicket mark.

The other three Indian bowlers to reach the milestone are Amit Mishra (166), Piyush Chawla (157), Yuzvendra Chahal (151), and Harbhajan Singh (150).

In the encounter against PBKS, the 32-year-old bowled 3/22 in four overs for SRH, combining with Umran Malik (4/28) to dismiss PBKS for 151. With seven balls remaining, the SRH batters chased down the low score and won by seven wickets.

Sunrisers Hyderabad’s fourth win in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2022 has moved them up to fourth place, while Punjab Kings have lost three of their last six games.
