Roy, who scored a single run in England’s record total of 498 on Friday, redeemed himself by hitting 73 off 60 balls.

Unlike Friday’s run-fest which was peppered with sixes, Sunday’s match was a more demure affair, with England’s first six only coming in the 15th over when Roy hit Dutt over midwicket to clear the boundary.

Salt survived an early fright as an off-side cut threw the ball into the air and fell between two Dutch fielders.

Salt celebrated his half-century with a brilliant four off Bas de Leede’s bowling.

Salt tried to play around the ball and was beaten, sending the bails flying behind him.

On a subpar playing surface, the Netherlands defeated David Willey and Brydon Carse of England with a score of 235-7.

During Scott Edwards’ first one-day international as England’s captain, the team scored 498 runs, which was a new one-day world record.

Top-scoring The score of 78 that Edwards had was composed of three sixes and four fours.

Pieter Seelaar, a former captain who has been hampered by a persistent back problem and did not play in the match, announced his retirement from international cricket after the game. Seelaar did not play in the contest.

The greatest combination for the Dutch was between Edwards and newcomer Teja Nidamanuru, who scored 73 runs together.

With a direct hit to the target, Willey was able to remove Edwards’ bails.

Bas de Leede scored 34 runs, one of which was a six-hit-off Adil Rashid that shattered a window in the press box.

Another slog off of Liam Livingstone’s bowling was mistimed by De Leede, which allowed Willey to retrieve the ball after it rose into the air.

Because Logan van Beek was not out at the end of the innings, the home team was able to post a defendable total.

The team led by Morgan got on the board first when Vikram Singh was dismissed for 10 runs off of Willey’s bowling.
