Moin Khan, who is from Karachi and used to play international cricket for Pakistan, thinks that the city’s cricketers are not mentally strong.

Khan said in an interview that he doesn’t see any plot against Karachi players. “I can’t believe that there is any conspiracy against Karachi players,” Moin said when it was pointed out that Pakistan’s T20I and ODI squads have no Karachi players.

In August and September, Pakistan will go to the Netherlands for a three-match ODI series and then to the UAE for the T20 Asia Cup. Not a single player from Karachi is selected by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the upcoming tour.

Moin said, “Karachi players are not mentally strong,”

“It’s high time to identify the weaknesses. If you are dropped, it doesn’t mean you leave cricket. They need to rate themselves on top and don’t lose hope. But, I think our city players lack passion and commitments,” the former cricket player from Karachi made clear.

The former captain gave an example from his own life to help make this debate about ignoring Karachi clearer. “I was dropped a lot of time from the team, but every time I came up with better performance,” Moin said.

“I believe Karachi players should stand for themselves. They should try to make themselves better than others. Don’t lose hope and throw negativity out of your mind,” He concluded.

Hanif Mohammad and Javed Miandad were both great players who led the Pakistan team for a long time. Sarfaraz Ahmed, who was born in Karachi, also led the Pakistan team in all three formats. He is thought to be one of the best captains in Pakistan cricket history.

He is the only Pakistani captain to have won two ICC trophies: the ICC U19 World Cup and the Champions Trophy.

Later, his play got worse, and he was no longer a regular member of the national team.
