Harry Brook, an English hitter, and Adil Rashid, a Pakistan Super League spinner, will not play in the upcoming eighth season (PSL 2023).

Rashid was selected by Multan Sultans during the selection in December, but the 2021 champions will select his successor in the Replacement Draft on Wednesday because the spinner will miss PSL 8.

Due to his commitments to the English squad, he will not play in the PSL.

Harry Brook, the standout batter for the defending champion Lahore Qalandars, won’t be available for the squad this year either.

The PSL 2022 champions’ middle-order batsman amassed 264 runs, including a century and several match-winning cameos for the Qalandars.

On February 19 at the Gaddafi Stadium, Brook had his greatest game for the Qalandars, scoring a scorching 49-ball 102 versus United.

The Qalandars will also be without Jordan Cox and Rashid Khan for the first three games.

In the upcoming replacement draught, which is set to take place tomorrow, Lahore Qalandars will receive some partial replacement players for these two players.

two-time winners Alex Hales, Moeen Ali, Garbaz, and Fazalhaq Farooqui will all have partial replacements at Islamabad United, while David Miller, Akeal Hussain, and Tim David will all have partial replacements at the Sultans.

On the other side, Mujeeb-ur-Rahman and Rovman Powell will be partially replaced by Peshawar Zalmi.

Waninidu Hasaranga, Jason Roy, and Odean Smith’s replacements by Quetta Gladiators will only be partial.

After an exciting opening ceremony, the PSL 8 will begin on February 13 with a match between the reigning champions Lahore Qalandars and the 2021 champion Multan Sultans at the Multan Cricket Stadium.

After a widespread power outage on Monday, the replacement draught for PSL 8, which was set for January 24, has now been moved to January 25.

According to the PCB, franchises requested more time from the board to make their final decisions.

The PCB has also granted teams’ requests to expand the player pool. Franchises will now choose two players from the supplemental category to round out a team of 20 players.
