The honorary Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) position was given to left-arm pacer Naseem Shah by the Balochistan Police on Saturday.
The records state that a ceremony was organised here at the IG office to award the youthful right-arm pacer the rank of DSP.
The occasion was attended by the IG Balochistan Police Abdul Khaliq Sheikh and Additional Chief Secretary of the Interior Zahid Saleem, who also gave the pacer stars for his uniform.
It is important to note that Naseem has played for Pakistan in 15 Tests, 5 ODIs, and 16 T20 Internationals, and has taken 74 wickets in his brief international career.
The eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), which will begin on February 13, will feature the right-arm bowler playing for Quetta Gladiators.
Shaheen Shah Afridi, another Pakistani pacer, was honoured by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Police in July 2022 when he was named the ambassador of goodwill.
