In the Aiwan-e-Saddar in Islamabad on Thursday, Dr. Arif Alvi, the president of Pakistan, met with players from the men’s and women’s national football teams.
Haroon Malik, the head of the normalisation committee, accompanied the national teams.
President Alvi hailed the national women’s team’s accomplishments after they placed second in the Four-Nations Tournament in Saudi Arabia and urged the players to work extremely hard to represent their country with pride.
According to the president, adopting international best practices will inspire athletes and advance the sport. He was also in favor of fostering public-private partnerships and establishing relationships with foreign partners.
Alvi urged the normalization committee of the football federation to do its work quickly and settle football-related issues.
The president also stated that football should be pushed at the club and district levels because it is “very popular” in Pakistan and is played by millions of people.
It is important to note that both the men’s and women’s teams were called back for a training camp at the PFF Football House in Lahore before to the forthcoming hectic schedule of the national teams.

The men’s team is getting ready to compete in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifications, while the women’s team will compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics qualifiers.
