Hyderabad and Sialkot join Pakistan Super League as new teams

The FKS Group purchased the Hyderabad franchise for PKR 1.75 billion, while Ozee Developers acquired the Sialkot team for PKR 1.85 billion.

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has expanded with the addition of two new teams, representing Hyderabad and Sialkot. The FKS Group purchased the Hyderabad franchise for PKR 1.75 billion, while Ozee Developers acquired the Sialkot team for PKR 1.85 billion.

The auction for the new PSL teams was held at Jinnah Convention Center, Islamabad, with nine parties participating after Ali Tareen withdrew from the bidding process.

Hyderabad joins PSL

The FKS Group secured the 7th PSL team for PKR 1.75 billion and chose Hyderabad as the franchise city. Team owner Fawad Sarwar, originally from Hyderabad, said: “I grew up in Hyderabad and wanted to represent the city by owning this team.”

Sialkot joins PSL

The auction for the 8th PSL team saw intense competition, but Ozee Developers emerged as the winner with a bid of PKR 1.85 billion, selecting Sialkot as the team’s home city.

In total, the 7th and 8th PSL franchises were sold for PKR 3.6 billion, bringing the total number of teams in the league to eight.

The 11th season of PSL is scheduled to take place from March 26 to May 3, 2026.
