WhatsApp soon to introduce new ‘animated sticker’ feature

To liven up your messages experience, WhatsApp is planning to introduce a new feature of animated stickers to make conversations more interesting.

The animated stickers will be rolled out in a three-step, phased cycle. The new feature currently lies at the very early stage of the first step. The feature can be accessed both on Android’s beta edition of WhatsApp – edition 2.20.194.7 – and on iOS – version 2.20.70.26.

According to a report, some users are given the opportunity to display the animated stickers in the first stage of the rollout feature. Any animated sticker that you receive may also be saved and sent or forwarded, but at this stage, it is not possible to download or use sticker packs such as those currently available for static stickers.

Currently, there are limited animated stickers available as they are in the early stage but the number of the stickers will eventually increase.

The animated stickers will soon be made available for download as the rollout increases.

The possibility of importing animated stickers from third parties will be involved in two further stages of rollout. Third parties will bid packs of their own animated stickers. During these months a number of animated stickers developers have been working to include animated stickers for importation into WhatsApp.

The third and last stage of the rollout will see the availability of the animated sticker packs in the WhatsApp store.
