Human Mobile Devices (HMD) Global, the manufacturer behind Nokia-branded smartphones for the past seven years, is preparing to sell its line of HMD-branded devices.

Established in 2016 after Microsoft relinquished the rights to the Nokia brand for a decade, HMD Global introduced the Nokia 6 in 2017 as its inaugural handset.

This recent move from the Finnish company is anticipated to signify the conclusion of Nokia-branded smartphones. HMD is currently hinting at its forthcoming product lineup, offering glimpses of what to expect from HMD phones.

A notable change is the alteration in the X service user ID and website address. The debut of the first HMD-branded smartphone is expected to take place during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 event in Barcelona.

HMD’s official website mentions the establishment of an original HMD brand and the introduction of phones through new partnerships. The website states, “We’re still makers of Nokia smartphones and Nokia dumbphones, but we’re getting warmed up to bring you even more, including original HMD devices, and phones from all-new partnerships.”
