A MAN discovered a dead body beneath his girlfriend’s house while doing plumbing work.

Tracey Douds of Pennsylvania assumed the foul odour was caused by a dead animal because she never imagined it was a rotting corpse.

She told KDKA that her boyfriend discovered the skeletal remains while fixing the plumbing in her mobile home on Thursday.

Douds recalled the ordeal, saying, “He came out and he was like, ‘Tracey, you’re not going to believe this.'”

“I’m like, “Wait, what?” ‘I think there’s a dead body under there,’ he says.”

Douds initially thought her partner was joking until they discovered the bones.

The police were called, and officers stated that the human remains were in a “extreme state” of decomposition, according to WPXI.

According to a state police report, the manner of death has not been determined.

Cops are attempting to determine how long the body has been buried beneath the Ohioville house.

They have no idea when the person died and are unsure of the gender of the body.

Douds admitted that the ordeal had left her traumatised.

She said: “We’re a little traumatized. But it will be over with soon.”

She has lived at the property for around five years with her daughter.

Douds said sleeping at the property has been “weird” since the remains were discovered.

She said: “I am no Nancy Drew but I’ve been freaked out for a long time.”
