On Twitter, a shocking video of kangaroos wandering the streets of West Bengal’s Jalpaiguri district has surfaced. Because kangaroos are only found in Australia, Tasmania, and New Guinea, many people were taken aback when they saw them on the streets of India. Many people were concerned about how these creatures came to be thousands of kilometres from their natural homes.
The news agency ANI released many photographs of starving kangaroos strolling the streets of Jalpaiguri, West Bengal, leaving locals wondering where they came from.
Many people assumed the creatures had escaped from a zoo, while others said they had been smuggled in.

“They are not present in any zoo in this area. They are part of smuggling. Later seized. In zoo now for safe custody. Last month also two were arrested with a kangaroo,” Kaswan took to Twitter after being tagged in a photo of a kangaroo.
After the video went viral, forest workers from Jalpaiguri and Siliguri rescued three kangaroos. A newborn kangaroo corpse was also discovered near Siliguri by officials.
“The Kangaroos had some serious injuries on their bodies and have been sent to Bengal Safari Park for further treatment. A team has been formed to probe the matter,” Sanjay Dutta, Ranger, Belacoba forest range under Baikunthupur forest division said.
