Aicha Dounia was raped by my father for 12 years

“Being silenced and forced to swear to some bribed secret at that age is disturbing as a really loud, self-assured, and humorous child.

Looking back, it is horrifying how much control he had over a little child and his ability to keep them silent.

Over the course of a 12-year period, Aicha was abused; starting at the age of 14, it was a nightly event, and the violence of his actions only increased. On one occasion, the abuser even gave her two black eyes.

The court was told that during one summer, when she believed she was expecting, this led to a month of “temporary relief.” The abuse continued after it was discovered that she wasn’t pregnant.

“I was continuously overwhelmed by the worry that he was going to end up killing me,” she continued.

Aicha claims that her connection with her father was “tricky,” like that of many other survivors of abuse.

“I’m unsure of whether I loved my father. I still question emotions to this day, she said.

Of course, as in any circumstance in which a child is the victim of an abusive parent, you will always adore them. Because we aren’t taught love correctly, most people who have abusive parents don’t fully understand what it is.

“I thought that in order to demonstrate your love for someone, you should be too controlling, harming them even when doing so is necessary for “their own benefit” or to “guard them from the outside world.

He assured her he loved her “more than anything in the world,” and according to Aicha, she believed him because his word was law.

She was unable to harbour animosity toward him because doing so would result in punishment.

In order to make him appear “nicer” during the day, she began to put on a smiling face whenever she could.

When it got dark and everyone was asleep, I was also creeping about with him. I was frightened that someone would find out,” she admitted.

He had imprinted in my mind that we were equally responsible for having an affair, and if I tried to use the “rape card,” as he called it, no one would believe me because I wouldn’t have any supporting evidence.

By isolating them from other family members, her father was able to keep the abuse from the rest of the family.

He relocated them far from Aicha’s mother’s relatives because they weren’t fond of the mother-father dynamic and no one ever paid them any visits.

Aicha’s father opted to sleep in the living room rather than with her mother or even in the same room.

The young lady was coerced into pretending that she enjoyed spending evenings watching movies with him. If it didn’t, he might wake her up in the middle of the night and tell her to go downstairs.

Aicha’s father kept her quiet and led her to believe that she was just as much of a criminal as he was.

She thought she was going to hell due of both of their deeds because of his manipulation.
