A marathon requires a lot of training and preparation to complete. To complete the marathon in a specific amount of time, many of individuals train beforehand, work out, and even go on practice runs.
Running takes a lot of physical stamina and a strong will. As he crossed the finish line of the Barcelona Marathon, Spanish athlete Alex Roca exhibited each of the traits. His tenacious resiliency has touched many individuals.
According to Canadian Running Magazine, Roca finished the Barcelona Marathon in 5 hours, 50 minutes, and 51 seconds. On social media, he even posted a video of himself crossing the finish line. “HISTORY HAS BEEN MADE! The first person in the WORLD with a 76% disability to have managed to finish a MARATHON: 42.195 km (sic). This has been possible thanks to ALL my team. Thank you to ALL who have been cheering. Isn’t it amazing? Nike posted another batch of Alex Roca photos on Instagram. Nike stated, “Alex established a goal of breaking a world record by running a marathon with 76% physical impairment and Cerebral Palsy. He has recently passed that mark. It’s time to relax, but new objectives will appear sooner rather than later. Never stop seeking new challenges.”
